Ahmed Dash Rewatches “Excuse My French” 11 Years After Its Release
Actor Ahmed Dash attended a special screening of his film Excuse My French (La Mo’akhza) at Zawya Cinema, marking the 20th anniversary of Film Clinic. The film originally premiered in 2014, making this screening come 11 years after its initial release.
Excuse My French, written and directed by Amr Salama, tells the story of a boy whose life changes drastically after the sudden death of his father. He is forced to transfer to a public school, where the story unfolds. The cast includes Ahmed Dash, Kinda Alloush, Hany Adel, Moaz Nabil, Mohamed Adel, among others.
Dash’s latest film is Nogoom El Sahel (Stars of the North Coast), which features a large ensemble cast including Ahmed Abdel Hamid, Ali Sobhi, Mayan El Sayed, Malek Emad, and Ali El Sabea. The film was written by Karim Youssefand directed by Raouf El Sayed.

During Ramadan 2024, he appeared in the TV series Masar Egbari (Mandatory Path), alongside Essam Omar, Yasmina El Abd, Sabrine, and Basma. The show was written by Baher Dowidar and directed by Nadine Khan. In Ramadan 2023, he starred in Gaafar El Omda, a series that trended heavily online, and also appeared in El Sandouq (The Box), following the success of Meen Qal? (Who Said?) from Ramadan 2022.
On the film front, Abu Saddam remains one of his major recent roles. It competed in the Cairo International Film Festival’s official competition.
Ahmed Dash also won the Favorite Actor Award at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards held in Abu Dhabi in September 2023.
Internationally, Dash made a guest appearance in Marvel’s Moon Knight, directed by Mohamed Diab.
Additionally, he was chosen by UNICEF as a youth ambassador for the United Nations’ “Shabab Balad” (Youth of the Nation) initiative. His focus will be on solid waste management and its impact on climate change, aiming to raise awareness and promote eco-friendly solutions.
